Why Term Insurance?
1 Crore cover for a 30-year-old costs ₹8,000–₹12,000/month. Term gives you maximum protection at minimum cost. The savings difference (₹7,000–₹11,000/month) can be invested separately for better returns.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, absolutely. You can and should buy health insurance even if you have pre-existing conditions like diabetes, hypertension, thyroid etc. The condition must be declared honestly at the time of purchase. It will be covered after a waiting period of 24 years (varies by insurer). Non-disclosure of pre-existing conditions is the most common reason for claim rejection always declare honestly.
IRDAI and financial advisors recommend minimum 5 Lakh individual or 10 Lakh family floater as a starting point. Given medical inflation at 1518% annually, we recommend 1025 Lakh for metro cities. You can also opt for a 5L base plan + 50L Super Top-Up plan for comprehensive coverage at lower cost.
A Super Top-Up plan provides additional coverage above a threshold (deductible). For example, a 50L super top-up with 5L deductible pays for claims above 5L. This is very cost-effective you keep your 5L base plan and add a 50L super top-up for much lower premium than buying 50L base cover directly.
A common rule is 1015 times your annual income + all outstanding liabilities (home loan, car loan etc.). If you earn 8L/year and have a 30L home loan, you need approximately 80L1.2 Cr + 30L = 1.11.5 Cr coverage. Use our Term Cover Calculator for a personalized recommendation.
Yes! Health insurance premiums qualify for deduction under Section 80D (up to 25,000 for self/family + 25,00050,000 for parents). Life insurance premiums qualify under Section 80C (up to 1.5L total). Term insurance maturity proceeds are tax-free under Section 10(10D) subject to conditions. Consult a tax advisor for your specific situation.
